John N Culbertson
Managing Director
John N Culbertson is a Managing Director at Context Capital. He is responsible for the hedge fund seeding and acceleration business at Context. Mr. Culbertson has spent over 20 years in the field of quantitative trading and risk management.
Prior to joining Context john was the CIO of a family office and managed an internal fund of hedge funds. Mr. Culbertson is also a founder of Gamma Investors, a venture capital fund with investments primarily in financial services technology companies. Gamma Investors was founded in 2000 by several former partners in Cooper Neff and Associates.
Mr. Culbertson was a partner at Cooper Neff and Associates, a quantitative proprietary trading firm and founded their London office. At Cooper Neff John traded derivative products on equities, bonds and commodities in New York, London and Philadelphia. BNP Paribas acquired Cooper Neff and Mr. Culbertson left BNP Paribas in 1999.
Mr. Culbertson is Chairman of the board of directors at Urban Promise Ministries, an innovative urban youth organization headquartered in the city of Camden NJ. He is also a member of the board of directors at E3, a school choice advocacy organization.
Mr. Culbertson holds a Bachelor's degree from Rutgers University in Economics and Management and a Masters of Liberal Arts from the University of Pennsylvania.
